Draper's Community Engagement and Events Committee meets Wednesday, Sept. 23, to debrief the International Arts & Crafts Festival and start planning World Kindness Day in November and Random Acts of Kindness Week in February 2027.

The committee will gather at 6 p.m. in the Administration Conference Room at 1020 E. Pioneer Rd., according to the city's posted agenda.

Three items top the agenda: a review of the Arts & Crafts Festival held Saturday, Sept. 12, a report on World Kindness Day set for Nov. 13 and a report on Random Acts of Kindness Week scheduled for Feb. 14–20, 2027.

The festival ran from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 12500 S 1300 E, according to the Draper city events calendar. No attendance figures have been released. The agenda lists a review of the event but no details on what the committee found.

The kindness programming builds on earlier work. Mayor Troy Walker signed the Kindness Week Worldwide Proclamation ahead of a previous kindness week, the Draper Journal reported.

Committee members fanned out across Draper to hand out "Be the Good" cards and Utah Truffles at parks and public spaces. The city's Communications Department posted a video of employees sharing kindness stories, and bookmarks listing 16 ideas for simple acts of kindness were stocked at Draper Library and City Hall.

Committee member Jenny Haase told the Draper Journal in January that the effort aimed beyond a single week. "Our goal is to inspire more kindness, not just this week, but throughout the year and for years to come," Haase said at the time.

A sub-committee has been working on Random Acts of Kindness Week plans since at least August, when the committee's Aug. 26 agenda noted the group's formation. Specific activities for both November and February have not yet been announced.
