Registration for Draper's Corner Canyon Half Marathon, 10K and 5K closes Friday, Sept. 18, with prices jumping on race day.

The annual trail race, presented by Draper Parks and Recreation, is set for Saturday, Sept. 19, at 7 a.m. at 1600 E Highland Dr., near the Andy Ballard Arena & Equestrian Center. Registration remains open according to the city's race page.

Current registration fees are $35 for the 5K, $40 for the 10K and $70 for the half marathon. Same-day registration costs $45, $50 and $80, respectively.

The course

All three races travel Corner Canyon's dirt trail system, passing Ghost Falls, the silica pit and the Bear Canyon Suspension Bridge. The city describes the route as a chance to see fall colors and local wildlife.

Runners have a four-hour cutoff. After that, event staff, including finish-line workers and trail marshals, leave the course.

What runners get

Each registered runner receives a souvenir beanie cap, a drawstring bag, a race bib with timing chip and a free downloadable race photo taken by a professional photographer on the course. The deadline to guarantee a long-sleeve tech shirt was Aug. 20. Runners who registered after that date can buy extra shirts for $10 at packet pick-up while supplies last.

Awards go to the top three overall finishers and the first-place finisher in each age and gender division.

Aid stations along the route will offer water and sports drinks. Water, sports drinks and snacks will be available at the finish line.

The race runs rain, snow or shine but could be canceled or postponed for severe weather. Residents can check the race webpage or call (801) 576-6572 for updates.

Draper City said on its official X account on Thursday, Sept. 3, that registration is still open. Volunteers who want to help on race day receive an event T-shirt; interested residents can email the city for details.
