Draper's Latter-day Saint congregations will skip regular Sunday services Oct. 4 as the 196th Semiannual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints takes over the weekend.

Four sessions run at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time on Saturday, Oct. 3, and Sunday, Oct. 4. Each lasts about two hours. All originate from the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, with President Dallin H. Oaks, the faith's prophet, presiding.

This is the second conference under a revised format announced by the First Presidency on Nov. 19, 2025, that dropped the Saturday evening session. The weekend now has four sessions instead of five.

Draper residents have several options:

Attending in person

Underground parking at the Conference Center will not be available. Conference tickets double as UTA transit passes for travel to and from sessions.

Draper residents who want seats should ask their local congregation leaders about obtaining tickets, according to the church's official conference notice. Standby tickets may be available for those who line up outside the Tabernacle on Temple Square at least 90 minutes before each session.

After the conference

On-demand recordings will be posted at conference.ChurchofJesusChrist.org and in the Gospel Library app. Video and audio go up within three days of each broadcast. Text transcripts follow within three weeks.

In a Sept. 3 letter released in 54 languages, the First Presidency encouraged members worldwide to study and apply the counsel shared during conference. The letter was signed by Oaks, Henry B. Eyring and D. Todd Christofferson.
