Local singers and musicians can still land a spot on stage for the Draper Philharmonic & Choral Society's "Celebrate Broadway & The Silver Screen" concert, scheduled for Friday, September 25, and Saturday, September 26, at 7 p.m. at Corner Canyon High School.

The choir needs tenors, baritones, and basses. The philharmonic has openings for violin, viola, principal cellist, cello, French horn, timpanist, percussionist, trumpet, trombone, and flute.

Auditions take place at Vezzoso School of Music, 12222 S. 1000 E., Suite 2, in Draper. Prospective members meet with Founder and Artistic Director Sherri Jensen and Managing Director Joan Davis. Those who join are expected to attend all rehearsals, sell a minimum of five tickets per concert, purchase performance attire, and practice regularly with provided tracks. All-volunteer operation

The Society, a nonprofit founded in January 2017, runs entirely on donated time. No board member or production team member receives financial compensation, according to the organization's website. Jensen chairs the six-member board and directs the artistic program. Randy Karren serves as president. Jannalee Hunsaker, director of operations, also manages production while handling costumes, sets, and social media.

Behind the curtain, more than 25 volunteers fill roles including technical director (Keith Lutz), sound engineer (David Jensen), stage manager (Andrea Lutz), lighting designer (Jesse Cornelison), and choir accompanist (Jayne Galloway).

Tickets for the September 25-26 performances are on sale at DraperPhilharmonic.org. Reserved seating is available, with discounts for students, seniors, and groups of five or more. Wheelchair-accessible seating is offered. Specific pricing is listed on the ticketing platform.

The Broadway concert has drawn repeat audiences since its debut. The Society's website features attendee reactions, including one who wrote: "Who knew Draper had something as professional as this?"
