Corner Canyon's Drew Wilson sits second in Region 3 boys golf individual standings with a 66.5 stroke average through Week 8, trailing only Lone Peak's Blake Brown at 65.6.
Wilson shot a 68 at Riverbend Golf Course on Monday, Sept. 21, tying for fourth in that round. Lone Peak's Ryder Huish led the day with a 66, followed by Brown and Lehi's Adi Nota at 67. Wilson's season average puts him less than a stroke behind Brown and a fraction ahead of Huish, who carries a 66.8 average, according to the Deseret News' Week 8 region recap published Sept. 28.
As a team, the Chargers carry a 283.0 stroke average, third in Region 3. Lehi leads at 279.0 and Lone Peak is second at 281.6. American Fork (289.0) and Skyridge (293.0) round out the five-team region. Corner Canyon's Jared Arnoldsen also appears in the region's individual standings at 71.8, placing 12th.
The Chargers won the 6A state championship in 2024, according to the school's Charger Connection newsletter in October 2024. A four-stroke gap separates them from region leader Lehi heading into the final stretch of play.
Juan Diego's Hammond holds seventh in Region 10
At Juan Diego Catholic, Tytan Hammond holds a 75.0 stroke average in Region 10 individual standings, tying him for seventh with Park City's Dane Hays. Hammond shot a 70 at Glendale Golf Course on Wednesday, Sept. 23, tying for fifth in that round. East's Ben Wright led with a 66.
East dominates Region 10.
The Leopards lead the team standings at 292.0 and claim three of the top four individual scorers. Laslo Waltman of East sits first at 71.0, followed by teammate Wright at 72.0. Juan Diego does not appear in the Region 10 team standings, which list East, Park City, Highland, Judge and Murray.
Hammond's 70 at Glendale was five strokes below his season average. He is the only Juan Diego golfer listed in the region's published individual standings.
Region play continues for both Draper programs, with Corner Canyon chasing a four-stroke deficit against Lehi and Hammond looking to close the gap on Region 10's top tier ahead of the state tournaments.
