Draper City will shut off water service to homes along Suncrest Drive for three days starting Monday, Oct. 5.
The shutoff runs from approximately 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day Monday through Wednesday, Oct. 7. Crews will complete water repairs on the line, the city said in a post on X Saturday, Oct. 3.
The city posted a map of the affected area alongside the announcement. It did not specify how many homes would lose service or describe the nature of the repairs.
The announcement gave residents roughly one day's notice before the Monday start.
@TruBluDad: "This is nuts!!! Your telling us a day in advance!?!"
Suncrest water lines have required three rounds of repair work since July. Draper City announced emergency repairs affecting the Suncrest area and Utah County neighborhoods beginning July 14. That work was extended through July 17 after additional problems surfaced.
On Aug. 3, contractor Condie Construction began replacing two pressure-reducing vaults, known as PRVs, on the Suncrest Drive transmission line, according to a separate city announcement. PRVs regulate water pressure between higher- and lower-elevation sections of the system.
The city has not said whether the Oct. 5–7 repairs are related to the earlier PRV replacement or a separate issue. Scott Cooley, Draper City's public works director and city engineer, was not quoted in the announcement. No explanation for the short notice appeared in the post.
