Late registration is still open for fall T-Ball and Coach Pitch leagues at Falcon Park, with games starting for Draper-area kids as soon as Monday.

Sandy City Parks & Recreation is running both leagues at the park, located at 9200 S. 1700 East in Sandy, just across the city line from Draper. Coach Pitch games for first- and second-graders begin Monday, Aug. 24. T-Ball for Pre-K and kindergarten players starts Tuesday, Aug. 25, between 5 and 6 p.m.

Families can sign up now at sandyparksandrec.activityreg.com or by calling 801-568-2900. The registration fee is $45 plus a $10 late surcharge.

Each league includes six games, a team shirt and hat. Bats, balls, tees and helmets are provided. Players only need to bring a glove.

The program is also looking for volunteer coaches willing to follow its Positive Parent Pledge, a sportsmanship commitment for sideline adults. Sandy City Parks & Recreation described the leagues as focused on developing leadership, teamwork and confidence in young players, according to the program's event listing.

Organizers have not announced a season-end date. With six games per league, families should expect play to run several weeks from the opening dates.
