Draper-area families who missed the first round of Sandy Recreation Center's Kids Camp have one more shot before summer ends. A second weeklong session opens Monday, Aug. 10, at Bicentennial Park and runs through Friday, Aug. 14, giving kids in grades K–5 a final burst of structured activity before Canyons School District classes resume Aug. 17.

The camp runs 8:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. each day and costs $150 for the week. Each session includes games, team challenges, crafts and two field trips, though specific destinations have not been announced.

Sandy Recreation Center organizes the program and handles registration through its online portal. Families can also call 801-568-4600 for information. The park sits at 530 E 8680 S in Sandy, just across the Draper border.

The first session ran Aug. 3–7 and was covered in a previous article. This second session was not listed at that time. Whether spots remain open could not be confirmed as of Saturday, Aug. 8; Sandy Recreation Center's event listing describes the camp as "bursting with nonstop fun" but does not indicate capacity.

With Canyons District's first day for grades 1–12 set for Monday, Aug. 17, and kindergarten starting Wednesday, Aug. 19, according to the district calendar, the Aug. 10–14 session lands in the last full week of summer break for most Draper students.
